Our sweet little Rapunzel!

*Play song, "When Will My Life Begin" with this post

Ok, so it probably wasn't very hard to guess what Em would be for Halloween, since we live, breathe and do everything around here Tangled :)

Ok, so maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but only a wee little bit! You'll first remember our mention of the Tangled obsession in this post... and then this one. So you get the idea that she loves it.... at least as humanly possible for a little girl to love a pretend character.

Well, without further ado, here she is in all her royal glory ;)

Here's the ones I took of her at school

With the fake frying pan, and yes I felt she needed one of these since it is by far her favorite(st) part in the movie when Rapunzel accidentally hits herself with hers (she even will rewind it herself to watch it over and over!)

Every beauty queen needs to have a signature wave! And the crown is an authentic Rapunzel crown from the disney store.... cuz mamma's like that!

This was before school had started and she had a little audience that consisted of the teachers, office staff and teaching assistants. They all clapped for her sweet little brandishing of her frying pan, waving and showing off of her jewelry, and she just had to clap back ;)

And these were taken in the front yard of our landlords before we took our little trick-or-treater around! And BTW, this will go down in history as the best Halloween weather Utah has ever seen! 78 was the high for that day and the night stayed clear and didn't ever get very cold! Thank you for that, and the fact that daylight savings ended after Halloween finally!

She was so proud of her jewelry.... probably will be a big hit for dress-up for years to come! (kind of was an early Christmas gift)

This is still how she asks me to sing her favorite song, "I'm a Little Apple Tree"

She knew who she was supposed to be, she knew she looked cute, she knew she could get whatever she wanted that night..... and she loved every second of it!

The "real" frying pan.... she tried real hard, but couldn't lift it all too well!

The hair do that took 35 minutes, and 3 different redos that day, but it did turn out very cute!

Ok, now I'd been noticing that day when I took pictures at the preschool for the website (you can see those here and Em can be seen in the Monday afternoon one), that the flash was not working all too well.... sadly it completely gave out that night, so we don't have any pictures from Emarie trick-or-treating :( But at least we got the costume, right?!

And actually we did get some from Em's iPhone that will be coming up in the next post.

Oh, and here's me on Halloween.... yes I still take advantage of where I work and the fact that it's socially acceptable for me to dress up! Plus my other mom (aka Steve's mom, I'm going to stop using the term Mother-in-Law altogether, since I know there's a stigma with that phrase, and mine is much more worthy of just a plain ole "mom"), thanks again I love it! Oh and please don't kill me for telling everyone you made it, since I believe you did a fabulous job!!

Yeah, still the same thing I've been forever (The Pumpkin Fairy), but at least I finally have a decent tutu!

Hope you all had nice Halloweens! Though I bet very few had as nice of weather for it as we did :)

Our Fabulous Fall Festivities

* I racked my brains and searched forever to find a song to go with this post with no luck!

Fall always has been, and always will be my favorite time of year! So, I'm usually good on celebrating it.

First was Em's first school field trip to PumpkinLand, and boy did she have a blast! A lot of kids were missing that day, so it ended up being her and two other girls and five adults for her class! Lot's of one on one attention :)

Since I had gone earlier with the morning class and rode the bus, another fellow teacher and I thought to ask the bus driver if he minded if Em rode as long as I came along... (district policy is that kids that can't independently walk can only ride the bus with a wheelchair or other transit approved device... insurance has now denied us twice for a special needs stroller). He didn't see any reason why not, so sweet girl got to ride along with her friends :)

Em and her teacher Ms. Jamie

All three girls that made the trip from her class :) that's A and B, and by the way B is quite amazing! Never seen another kid with a trachea quite like her!

And that's Steve pushing Em (he joined us for the first part)

 Awww, aren't they cute??

Looks completely unimpressed ;)

Love her!

Picture with daddy before he had to head back to work

This goat kept chewing on Em's boot and she had the look on her face like, "why are you letting him do this to me??" As I was trying to get a picture, another one bit my side... all that and the smell, makes me grateful that we only go once a year!

 Light Alley

Love this picture!

Em's PT Angeleen helping her go down the slide

And her favorite, the swings

That ended the field trip, but we got to go to another pumpkin patch the following week. One that was right near our new place, that had a sign up saying that they were going to offer free hayrides and hot chocolate... couldn't pass that up now could we ;)

On the hayride

Em thought all the bumping around was hilarious!

We thought this was pretty funny...

Yes that is a very large, escaped pig... that our driver is desperately trying to corral back to her pin!
She was very accomplished at evading capture ;)

My favorite part was when he kept exclaiming that he didn't have any idea how she got out!! Well, when I saw the little metal crate that was blocking the door, it was easy to see how this pig that was easily 300+ pounds could get out ;)

Picking the perfect pumpkin takes a lot of concentration

Loves her Halloween songs, just like her momma!

She's so good at the actions!

P.S. Miss Em is standing on her own for this shot :D

We had so much fun! Thanks to a nice farmer and his family who really just wanted to give families a fun night without caring if they made money! We walked away only spending $5 on the 3 pumpkins we took home :) Made our week!

And I wanted to do something different  with the pumpkins this year since we won't really be able to show them off with where our front door is. Plus, I really didn't feel like spending hours.. possibly days on carving them all (since I'm the only one who does)! So I set out to find an alternative, and I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

 First we painted them

Em, was excited for all about 2 minutes! But, she had fun the next day...

 Examining which parts go where

So proud!

And the finished products

All supplies were purchased at Hobby Lobby for 40% off, so only $9 total!

BOO!! Happy Halloween!

Due to a few people bugging me about wanting to see Em in her costume, I have moved this post to the front of the line of those waiting to be posted. See? I can be nice sometimes! Hope you're happy ;)

Halloween 2010

So we kinda "Scrooged" the whole Halloween thing this year, in a sense. Meaning we were out of town Friday, Saturday and Sunday. But that does not mean that Em did not participate in many fun Halloween type activities.

First she was able to attend a birthday party for my friend Marci's little boy Brighton in her costume:

Em had such a blast just watching everything!!

The cute birthday boy eating his cake ;)

Getting ready to decorate her pumpkin

 Brighton with his pumpkin

Laughing at the kids playing on the tree swing

"Yeah this is a pumpkin, so what!"

 All finished decorating

After the party we joined daddy to see one of his friends playing with his band (Code Hero) at the "Fork Fest"

So Em wore her costume there too :)

We also went to the PEIP "Trunk or Treat" with the girls we watched (I already posted this, but here it is again)

And then, last but not least, Emarie joined my afternoon class for our party and parade on Wednesday! Oh, and daddy came to watch the parade (that's who took the pictures) and grandma Karen (my mom) also joined us that day! (I don't know how I didn't get any pictures with Grandma, but you can hear her on the video!)
The Pumpkin Fairy and her Little Witch! And yes I know my hair is in my eyes, time for a bang trim already I guess!

I'm always in charge of the music for the parade since I have the Halloween playlist on my iPod

She got mad being in her stroller, so then we just let her dance on the table ;) so "Em-esc"

One with daddy before he had to get back to work

And of course a video of my dancing witch, because when she hears music (even scary Halloween music) her little body can't help but groove! ;) Love this girl!

Hope everyone else's Halloween was just as fun!
