If you would like to help

One of the main things a parent hears with a newly diagnosed child, is "Is there anything I can do to help?" or "How can I help?" or "What can I do?" etc, etc.

One of the main things we could use is really, essentially, awareness. Reality is, most of us experienced and still experience everyday doctors and specialists that have never heard of or treated anyone with a chromosome 18 abnormality, because really it just isn't that common. The more doctors hear of it though, the more they'll learn/want to find out, which is what we need! So spread the word!

Another thing that's easy-peasy (made even easier now), is donations to help research. The Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society is still the only organization that does research for Chromosome 18 anomalies, and they are non-profit, therefore could use all the help they can get! They have recently set up an effortless way to do this online. And really, any amount big or small helps, so don't be afraid if you can only give $5 or less (though most of us could probably afford more than that).

And you should know that Chromosome 18 research not only helps individuals with a ch18 abnormality, but can help assist in research for autism, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, obesity, metabolic disorders, and other chromosome abnormalities, and the list goes on and on!
